'Camping' at Hoffmaster
The VanderMey side of Nathan's family has a family reunion of sorts every Labor Day weekend. Nearly everyone comes and camps together, spending the days at the beach and the nights around a single, huge bonfire. This year we were 'camping commuters.' We drove to the park every morning and back every night when it was approaching Clara's bedtime. It was great to see everyone. There are lots and lots of little ones - nine under the age of 4!
The performer
It seems like every time we visit either side of our family, Clara decides it is time to pull a new stunt out of her bag of baby tricks. She is clearly an extrovert and loves the attention! This visit, she decided she had a large enough audience to display her ability to clap.
To Michigan for Labor Day Weekend
The weather was perfect over Labor Day weekend. Rachel, Mom, Clara and I were outside while Rachel was watering the flowers (and Clara's toes!) when Rachel suggested that we go down to Lemar Park where there was a splash park. Clara loved it!
She was putting her hands and face into the water and crawling into the sprinklers!

The Exersaucer
Clara has not played in the Exersaucer in months. Every time I would put her in it she would last maybe 5 minutes and then would loudly protest the injustice of being confined while I was doing things that were so much more fun, like sorting laundry, doing dishes, or making dinner...you know, the stuff dreams are made of!
Now, however, the Exersaucer suddenly holds interest again, albeit not in the conventional way.
